Energy Efficiency in Vermont: Why Be Blue When You Can Go Green?

On Sunday August 3^rd, 1pm – 4pm, Highlands Construction will be celebrating the 1^st Annual Blueberry Festival in the Deerfield Valley with a Green Building Tour at Haystack Highlands. Construction Manager, Matthew Yakovleff, will be offering a free tour to demonstrate how green building principles can significantly affect heating costs, energy efficiency and indoor health concerns.

Looking at live examples, Matthew will explain the benefits of foundation insulation, tight wall construction, specific appliances, electrical fixtures and light bulbs, indoor air quality, Energy Star requirements and Third Party Verification.

Matthew Yakovleff is a NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) Certified Green Professional. He has long been interested in Green Building, particularly the energy efficiency portion, and has attended many workshops and conferences on the subject. Armed with this information, he brings a wealth of knowledge to create practical, affordable, environmentally friendly, energy saving solutions.
